Another year has flown by.... 2019 was filled with so much growth for my small business. I completed over 265 orders throughout the year! Weddings, Showers, Birthdays, Farmers Markets & so much more. I'm so lucky to have clients who keep sharing the word about my little Bake Shoppe. I was so busy at the end of 2019 I had to say NO to a few orders....I felt terrible & blessed at the same time. I look forward to creating some new items and growing even more in 2020.
I wanted to take a moment to share why my "home-based" or "cottage food operation" is a bit different than others. I take soooo much pride in my work. I want to ensure not only the "look" of your custom order is excellent, but the quality & taste too. From decor to packaging, I put in the extra love to make each order special. I too, take extra steps to register with my local health department, keep my foodservice sanitation manger certification current, hold FLIP (Foodservice Liability Insurance) and I have an Illinois Business Registration. You WILL NOT see many home-based bakers with any of these credentials. I follow the Illinois Stewardship Alliance & Illinois Cottage Food Entrepreneurs to keep current and support the area of home-based producers. With each passing month I work toward my goal of moving into a larger home, that I can add a commercial kitchen to, so that I may fully advertise and operate as a store front shop with its own entrance.
This year I will continue to make Custom Cakes, KETO Cookies and my popular decorated Jumbo Sugar Cookies. I am adding some new sugar cookie flavors, and a few new cookie recipes too! I am working on more KETO/Diabetic friendly options for cakes/cupcakes as well. You will find my booth at the 3 French Hens Markets throughout the 2020 season, and I'm scheduling a few "POP-UP" sales at some local businesses too!
